So… what exactly is public involvement?
Public involvement, in our own words, is about supporting governments to fulfill their commitment to working for the people.
We help government collaborate better.
Whether it’s constructing road improvements, ensuring delivery of clean water or planning for the future—processes have better outcomes when shaped by the communities they serve.
That’s one reason public involvement can be challenging to define: because it’s different every time, tailored to the needs of each project and the people involved.
What’s PI versus PR? Our tactics sometimes look a bit like public relations or strategic communications, but our work is bigger than information—it’s about participation.
What’s PI versus PA? Our work is adjacent to public affairs or government relations, but we don’t promote specific projects or outcomes. We advocate for transparency in decision-making, the access of each person, and accountability to a clear and fair process.
True public involvement is inclusive, it’s human-centered, and it’s meaningful – because it inspires action and shapes outcomes.
Collaborative process honors everyone. It’s our why.
