Newberg Dundee Bypass

Project Overview

JLA led public outreach and information during final design and construction of this important regional project to construct a new highway bypassing the downtowns of Newberg and Dundee, Oregon. Construction of a new highway is a rare event and one that required extensive coordination between communities, representatives and agencies.

During the four-year project, a variety of communications tools were used, tailored to design and construction milestones. These included a traveling kiosk placed at high-traffic community locations, newsletters, interactive online maps, a video series and construction infographics.

The program took into account the needs of the large Spanish speaking stakeholder community, including translating many materials into Spanish and reaching out to the community through local liaisons.
